This week, we chat with Sionna Barton or “Coach Si” - Head Coach, Bermuda Jump Rope Federation. Sionna emphasizes the importance of program development and recruitment for the future of jump rope. She also highlights the need for intentional inclusion and calls on coaches and organizers to create safe spaces for athletes of all races and socio-economic backgrounds. We need to move away from tokenism and provide true and meaningful representation. This is a very important conversation and one that we hope all jump rope organizations are having or will have.
